Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring remarkable changes, not only to your body but to your sense of self. At Matresence, we’re here to support you through these changes with thoughtful, comfortable, and confidence-boosting styling tailored to your unique experience.

Our approach is rooted in respect for the diversity of each woman’s journey. We know that every mum-to-be and new mum has a unique style and story, and we’re here to celebrate that individuality. With an eye for chic, practical, and season-appropriate options, we focus on helping you feel at ease, whether you’re adjusting to maternity wear or finding your post-baby wardrobe.

During a personalised consultation, we work to understand your style preferences, lifestyle needs, and the changes you’re experiencing. Our goal is to build a wardrobe that empowers you, enhancing your natural beauty while adapting to your new stage in life. From curated pieces to simple styling tips, we make it easy to feel like yourself – no matter where you are on your journey.

About Kel McIntosh, principal stylist, graphic artist, photographer, motorcyclist, mother.

I started Matresence because when I finally was able to stay pregnant at 38, the world of pregnancy swallowed me up and shook the absolute core of my self identity. With a history of disordered eating, I struggled with the rapid physical changes in my body and while the nausea and hormones didn't help, getting dressed in the morning became more and more challenging. So I took matters in to my own hands to understand why and how I could help others going through the same experience.

I hope that if you have found Matresence, we are able to give you what you need, where you are now.

I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley with my husband and our baby girl. My favourite things are coffee, fresh bread with butter, libraries and motorcycles.

Please, a note: In our Journal, I write from my own perspective as a person who identifies as a woman. I am also aware of the privilege and opportunities I experience based on my country of residence, income and education. I write what I know and respect that others have different experiences.

You are an amazing mother
